Quick Start with IDUv2
After the gateway has been created in the Datahub, it must be plugged in.
The IDUv2 (Indoor Gateway) uses LoRaWAN technology to ensure the connectivity of IoT meters. The IDUv2 is intended for use inside a building. The gateway ensures reception of your LoRaWAN end devices in the gateway’s reception area and transmits their data to the backend.
It connects to the Internet via an integrated SIM card using mobile communications. The SIM card is multi-roaming capable, i.e. it can use any available network.
The IDUv2 automatically connects to the ZENNER Datahub when plugged into a socket. This can be recognized by the fact that both LEDs light up green.
Important: The Gateway must have network coverage. If the gateway has no network coverage, it will not connect to the data hub. In this case, it is recommended to move the gateway to a different location and test whether it connects to the Datahub and is online.
Gateway Range
In terms of range, you can assume a theoretical value of 2-3 miles if there is nothing in the way (as the crow flies). The situation is different in buildings, especially with reinforced concrete. In most cases, three floors are reached from the basement. However, this is also a theoretical value that may vary.
